My skin was a little red but about the same as when I have it waxed professionally. So they are annoying but I'm sure I'll get better at this. The wax does form these crazy long threadlike strings that get all over the place, but you can kind of pluck them off and roll them up in a ball and they dry and come right off. Took me 2 times per eyebrow to get all the hair, not because the wax didn't work but because my placement using a plastic knife was not awesome. Ripped it off like the pros do, opposite direction of hair growth. I'm super impatient so I let it cool like twice as long as I thought I needed to. I painted it on with the plastic knife (that won't be reusable, haha) and let it cool. Then you have to kind of run to the bathroom because it cools fast. You really need something shallow, the cup they sell seems insane to me.Īnyway, took me a few minutes in 30-sec microwave intervals to get the wax to the right consistency. Once the wax cools, you can just sort of crack it off, but it did leave little wax bits around the rim, but who cares, this one will be my wax cup. That worked great although that particular cup won't be used for baking anymore. ![]() Instead of buying the giant wineglass shaped cup (WHY), I used a silicon baking cup (like you would use for cupcakes instead of the paper cups). But since apparently my ancestors are part Sasquatch, this was getting old, I can't even see some of the smaller hairs, and I wanted that waxed smoothness. So I have never waxed anything at home and have been plucking my eyebrows since March thanks to COVID (I usually have them professionally waxed). I used a plastic knife and it worked fine, although it's not ideal because of the serration on the knife causing many tiny strings. Now I see reviews that say this but sadly didn't see them before ordering. I'm a novice and it worked for me!NOTE: despite the description, mini size does NOT come with a spatula. If you are on medication that affects skin or you have a skin related disorder, consult your doctor before use. Precautions: Ensure the wax is not too hot or too cold before applying to skin.ĭo not use if your skin has suffered any adverse reactions to wax in the past.ĭo not use it within 2 hours after taking a shower, or sunbathing. ![]() Leave to cool, then firmly peel off Wakse, pulling it back in the opposite direction of the hair growth.Ī reusable spatula is included inside of every Wakse retail jar. Test Wakse's temperature on wrist before application.įirmly apply Wakse in the direction of hair growth. If consistency is too thin, allow to cool and thicken. Actual heat times may vary depending on your microwave/wax warmer settings. Simply pour the Wakse beans in a Wakse Melting Pot or Melting Pot Electric, place in the microwave oven and heat for 45 second intervals until Wakse is the consistency of honey.
